In these days he went out into the hills to pray; and all night he continued in prayer to God.
- Luke 6:12
Jesus retreated and prayed to His Father before one of the most important decisions in history, where He called the Twelve disciples.
Following the Lord's example, Christians throughout history have taken regular breaks from the rigors of ordinary life to intentionally step away and to pray. This is what the Holy Ghost Church Staff did on May 7th.
The Staff all gathered at Our Lady of Hope Retreat Center for a day of recollection, prayer, reflection, and rest. The Staff followed the example of Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati, OP, who found great joy in hiking, and reflected on the obstacles along the way of our ministry but also on God's graces.
Most importantly, the Staff shared in the fullest prayer, the source and summit of all Christian life, and the fount of unity: the Eucharist. This was an opportunity to pray, not only for the Staff, but for the ministry that is accomplished when the work is done together. It was a day of prayer for the entire people of Holy Ghost and for the Staff to better be able to serve in each of their capacity.
