On Sunday, March 9, Bishop Michael Duca held a Mass with the Rite of Election for those preparing to be baptized and fully initiated into the Catholic Church at this year's Easter Vigil on the night of Saturday, April 19, as the Church makes a vigil eagerly awaiting the Resurrection of her Savior. The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is the Church's official process that helps in integrating new members into the Body of Christ after the years of infancy.
The Rite of Election is a deeply moving moment in which the journey of those who have been preparing for months to be baptized and fully incorporated into the Church are now declared as "Elect." The Church attests to their formation and readiness to approach the sacraments of initiation. It is a public affirmation of their journey of faith and the sincere intention to fully embrace the Christian life.
Please continue praying for them, especially during these final weeks of preparation.
