On April 2nd, many of our parishioners gathered for an evening of prayer and Lenten reflection in song. Led by David Kauffman, who came from San Antonio, Texas, offered to us more than a concert. It was not a performance, but we were led in prayer. The overwhelming majority of the songs he sang were adaptations from sacred Scripture or inspired by the Holy Word of God. Fr. Cayet led us with an opening prayer recalling to the words of St. Augustine, "He who sings well sings twice." What a better way to pray during this Lent than by the inspired words of Scripture in song. People left with a sense of gratitude for the opportunity to pray in such a beautiful way and give thanks to God for this time of preparation.
